The insect body is divided into three segments: a head, thorax and abdomen. In this course, we examine the head, from the part of the nervous system that innervates it, to the eyes, antennae and mouthparts. After completing this course, you should be able to understand how insects perceive color and light, recognize different antennal types for insect identification, and see how insect mouth parts have evolved from a basic type based on function.
