They are often transported long distances and stored for several years in bulk. Few practical solutions are available to remove insect pest infestations when they occur, and large quantities often need to be fumigated. After completing this course, you should be able to identify the commodity fumigants and their attributes, understand how soft commodities are commonly transported and stored, and explain the basic procedures of a commodity fumigation.
