Termite/Bed Bug Service Technician Job Description Reports To: Franchise Owner/Supervisor Work hours: Normal operating hours are 7:30am 5:00pm. Work outside of normal operating hours may be necessary. Workdays: Monday — Saturday Safety: This is a safety-sensitive position TRULY NOLEN PEST CONTROL TERMITES POSITION SUMMARY: Performs termite and bed bug treatment through use of various pesticide/termiticide applications in manner that is legal, professional and environmentally conscious while ensuring customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Receive service requests and complete service for all customers according to the established daily schedule. 0 Inspect properties and structures (including attics and sub-crawl spaces) for evidence of termite and pest activity. 0 Identify and diagnose termite activity along with areas of concern and communicate findings with customers. Determine most effective treatment type required for findings. Apply pesticides/termiticides to properties and structures while following safety procedures, label instructions and governing laws. Respond, in a timely manner, to customers' requests for service. Complete and submit required paperwork which requires reporting to the office daily at the appointed time. Update necessary customer information in the computer. 0 Operate spraying equipment, drill, shovel, caulk gun and various power and hand tools in performance of duties. Utilize appropriate protective gear and equipment during application (see physical requirements). Load and unload equipment and materials on vehicle (see physical requirements). 0 Drive company vehicle to customers' house or places of business. This requires possessing a valid driver's license and maintaining a good driving record within company equivalency points policy. Communicate with customers, branch/corporate personnel by phone, in person and/or in writing. Obtain and maintain certifications/licenses as required by federal, state and local regulations. DDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain customer base and grow route utilizing sales techniques (customer referrals, clover leafing and creative ideas). Attend training classes, seminars and meetings (may require travel). Cross-train in other branch positions. Maintain clean vehicle and keep equipment in proper operating condition which may involve performing minor equipment repair. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Basic math & measurement aptitude Work from sketches, drawings, plans or specifications Computer literate Excellent face-to-face & telephone communicator Excellent customer service Read maps and follow oral and written instructions Read, write & speak English Walking, sitting, standing, bending, crawling, squatting, kneeling, stepping, climbing, reaching, twisting, turning, grasping, squeezing, pulling, stretching & balancing. Lift, hold and/or move up to 50 pounds. Entrance into attics and sub-crawl spaces which may be tight, small, narrow or confined. Wear personal protective equipment such as a respirator, dust mask, goggles, gloves, etc. Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
